Mardi Gras Parties 2012.

It's Carnival time here in Greece and Mardi Gras is so much fun, going from party to party dressed up and lasting for almost 3 weeks!

This year I'm Red Riding Hood!

I am crazy in love with my costume! I carefully picked it among dozens of Red Riding Hood costumes and even ordered an extra black petticoat skirt to make my costume even more puffy.

Last week I went to 3 parties with best friends Elina and Elena. First in order: to a gorgeous bar that I've been going for years, then to the Trashformers party in Psiri and last to a private Haunted House party which was a mixed theme of Halloween and Mardi Gras.

This post is super picture heavy so enjoy! What are your costumes Dolls?

Guest Post: Accessorizing for Better Health

People say many things, both good and bad about beauty, but one thing that they do not often say is that beauty can help you keep your strength and fight the problems in your life. Beauty is something with which many women have a conflicted relationship, but one key thing that they miss is that beauty is something that can happen with work, effort and a thorough understanding of how certain things work on you. If you have been going through a rough time with mesothelioma cancer or any other cancer that women are prone to, you’ll find that beauty can be your rallying point, starting with accessories.

When you are dealing with your prognosis and your treatment, you don’t necessarily have it in you get dressed up to the nines. However, this kind of thinking can lead to a slow slide towards not caring about many things that were important to you, and at the end of the day, it can defeat your self-esteem and your confidence by inches. When you want to focus on beauty as being a primary goal because it will give you strength in the face of adversity, remember that it is important to start small and to figure out what you want to look like. In the first place, accessories are small and cheap.

Moreover, they are fun and they give you a wonderful way to make sure that you always have a little bit of color on you. Consider how you are going to be able to get involve a little bit color in your life and around your person. For example, start with scarves. Scarves are items that you can wear no matter how much your weight fluctuates, and you’ll also find that they are a terrific choice when you want some color next to your face. Consider how you can wear them, whether they are in your hair, around your neck, or around your waist. Drape them over your head for bohemian look or tuck one end into your waistband and let the other flutter free.

Also don’t forget how you feel about jewelry. Sometimes a little bit of sparkle can go a long way towards helping you feel a little better. Whether you love a few small pieces that simply make you happy or you go wild over the more dramatic costume jewelry pieces, start wearing your jewels. Ask your friends for fun pieces when they ask you what you want, and take advantage of the many different options available to you. Get together with your friends to enjoy the jewelry together, putting together outrageous effects. Consider how accessories and fashion can get you back on your feet when you are feeling wretched.
